Privacy Policy

Overview

K2 Companion (“the App”) is a mobile client for K2, an open-source AI workspace application. The App's only job is to talk to your own K2 server. It reaches your machine through K2 Connect, our hosted secure tunnel: you sign in with your K2 Connect account and the App connects to your server over the tunnel.

K2 Connect is a separate hosted service with its own K2 Connect Privacy Policy, which you agree to when you sign up for it online. This policy covers the App itself.

The App Collects Nothing

The App itself collects no information about you. Specifically:

• No analytics or usage tracking of any kind
• No crash reporting sent to Alakazam Labs
• No third-party SDKs, advertising frameworks, or tracking pixels
• No selling, sharing, or profiling of any information

How It Connects

The App routes your session to your own machine through the K2 Connect relay. What that hosted service does with your connection — and our commitment never to read your session contents — is described in the K2 Connect Privacy Policy.

The only data the App handles is your live session (streamed in real time, not persisted) and the password you type to sign in — sent over the encrypted connection to authenticate, and not stored on your device.

Data Stored on Your Device

The App stores the following locally on your device:

• Saved connections — your server address, username, and a nickname you choose, so you can switch between machines. Your password is not stored — you enter it each time you sign in.
• Session data — terminal output and agent activity are streamed in real time and are not persisted beyond the current session.

This data stays on your device except to communicate with your server through K2 Connect.

Third-Party Services

The App integrates no third-party services — no analytics providers, no ad networks, no social SDKs, and no external APIs. When you use K2 Connect, that hosted service's data handling is covered by its own privacy policy.

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this policy, we will post the revised version at this URL.
